Paver Cleaning & Sealing in Delaware | F&S Power Washing
Paver Cleaning & Sealing in Delaware
Your paver patio, walkway, or driveway is an investment — and it deserves more than a quick blast with a pressure washer. F&S Power Washing does true paver restoration. Our owner is professionally trained in paver restoration, and we follow the process the right way, every time. One Rhythm, One Heartbeat: careful work, honest pricing, and pavers that look brand new when we’re done.
Our Paver Restoration Process
- Soft wash with a mild detergent — never blasting. High pressure destroys pavers and joint sand; soft washing lifts the dirt safely.
- Deck brush as needed. For stubborn spots, we work them by hand with a deck brush instead of reaching for more pressure.
- Low-pressure rinse. Everything rinses cleanly away without disturbing the pavers or the sand between them.
- Remove about a third of the old joint sand. We take out just enough weathered sand to give the fresh sand a clean bed.
- Install fresh polymeric sand. New poly sand is swept into the joints and set, locking every paver firmly in place.
- Seal. We finish with a professional-grade sealer matched to your pavers, protecting against stains, weeds, and weather.
Don’t Blast Your Pavers
Here’s what we hear from do-it-yourselfers all the time: they take their home pressure washer to their pavers every year, blast out the joint sand, and then assume they need new polymeric sand every single year. That’s wrong — and it’s costing them.
Blasting strips the sand that locks your pavers together. Without it, pavers shift, weeds move in, and ants set up shop. You’re only supposed to soft wash your pavers: treat the surface with a mild detergent, give it a quick pass with a deck brush if needed, and rinse it off with low pressure. The dirt comes off — and your sand stays right where it belongs.
Paver Rescue: We Fix Botched Paver Jobs
This year alone, we’ve gone around fixing more patios than we can count. Homeowners hired cheaper companies that didn’t know what they were doing — wrong sealer, wrong tips — and we had to strip the failed sealer off, re-sand the joints, and do the job right.
One job in Delmar says it all. A homeowner hired a contractor who took her money, used the wrong tip, and couldn’t get the bad sealer off — then never gave her money back and just walked away. She called us. We stripped the failed sealer, re-sanded the joints, sealed the patio properly, and washed her home while we were there. Here’s what she posted publicly:
“I had a terrible experience with a previous contractor that took my deposit and ran so I was apprehensive about the jobs I needed done at my house. From the moment I contacted F&S Power Washing, this company went above and beyond for me. Mr. & Mrs. Flip treated me like family and treated my property as if it were their own. Phoebe was excellent in communicating each step of the process with me and scheduling accordingly and always made sure all of my requests and needs were met. The crew was always on time, and worked so hard each day they were at my home. I will use this company for power washing and resealing my patio in the future. I can’t say enough good about this company. Look no further, hire them. They will take excellent care of you.”

Sealer Expertise Matters
Not all sealers are equal, and the wrong sealer is worse than no sealer at all. We’ve seen patios ruined by sealers that peeled, turned white and hazy, or left a slippery plastic-like film — the exact failures we’ve had to strip off this year. F&S matches a professional-grade sealer to your specific pavers and conditions, applies it correctly, and stands behind the result.
Paver Service Areas
We restore pavers in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, Milton, Georgetown, and surrounding Delaware communities.

Paver Cleaning & Sealing FAQs
Q: How often should my pavers be cleaned and sealed?
A: Most paver patios and driveways should be professionally cleaned every one to two years, with sealer refreshed as it wears — typically every three to five years depending on sun and traffic.
Q: Will pressure washing damage my pavers?
A: High-pressure blasting absolutely can — it strips joint sand and etches paver surfaces. That’s why we soft wash pavers instead: all the cleaning power, none of the damage.
Q: Can you fix a patio that another company sealed incorrectly?
A: Yes — paver rescue is one of our specialties. We strip failed sealer, re-sand the joints with fresh polymeric sand, and seal the patio the right way.
